Valium is a skatepunk band formed in Santiago de Chile in 2005 by Oscar, Frank, Nané and Noel.
Biography[]
With this line-up they record their first 7 songs demo in January 2007. After playing the whole year, Nané left the band, becoming Valium as a trio. Later, the band recorded the demo "Sala Uno" and a split called "No es Nada Nuevo que los chicos consuman Valium" alongside the band Nada Nuevo. Both records edited on their own label Audioslam Records in 2008. In May 2010 Oscar quits the band, entering Erwin Werb on drums. With the new line-up, Valium takes part in the very first Audioslam comp. "Ensalada #1", as well as Mixtape Lovers's "Santiago Best Dancers". Finally in February 2012 the band releases their first studio album titled "In-Descente", with 16 energic and fast songs. At the same time, due to the success of the album, they can accomplish their first international tour, visiting 4 towns in Argentina, and ending in Concepción alongside Intenta Detenerme. Also in 2012 the band takes part in a tribute album to the SoCal act Descendents, called "THANK YOU: Un Homenaje a Descendents". In August 2012 Valium tours the south of Chile, alongside Capitan Morgan. During 2013, the band participates in many shows, national as international, with highlights as Jump Festival, Where they share spectacle with xtreme sports legends as Tony Hawk, Matt Hoffman, among others. In 2014 they record and prepare their second studio album “Nuestro Lugar” wich is released in March 2015 under the label Audioslam Records, in that release also it is recorded “Una Vez Más” with an official clip produced and leaded by Al Vuelo Films. In November 2018, Noel is replaced by Ricardo Godoy in guitar.
Over the years, Valium has becomed one of the most important skatepunk exponents in Chile, receiving bands like NOFX, Descendents, Pennywise, etc...
